Vineyard Vines Shirt Fit Guide

Vineyard Vines Shirt Fit Guides

I'm a big fan of the Vineyard Vines brand and if you like preppy clothes you will be too. One of the first items I purchased was their famous Shep Shirt, a quarter-zip style sweatshirt that makes for a classy looking pullover. Then I moved on to the Vineyard Vines sport shirts. I believe they began selling their sport shirts in two different fits back in 2012. They have a Classic Fit and Slim Fit.

I opt for their Slim Fit shirts in a Medium size, being 5'10" 165 lbs. with an athletic build. I'm not jacked or anything, but I feel like classic fit shirts from most brands tend to have a boxier cut (especially if they are a Large size), and I don't need all of that room along the front and sides of my torso. Depending on the manufacturer, a classic fit shirt just looks silly on me when it's tucked in because of how much extra material there is. It looks like I'm trying to fly a spinnaker.

The first Vineyard Vines Slim Fit shirt I purchased was their Solid Oxford Tucker Shirt in Ocean Breeze. A blue oxford shirt is a preppy classic and should be a staple in any respectable man's wardrobe. I find the Vineyard Vines Oxford shirt, as well as all of their other sport shirts, to be made of a really soft fabric and fit true to size. Their Oxford is a little thicker than some of their other sport shirts, so I find myself wearing it in the fall and winter months, paired with khaki chinos and a navy blue sweater. You can't loose with a combo like that.

I also have a few of their Murray style sport shirts. Check out the Vineyard Vines Slim Fit selection at They also seem to have a great variety of colors and patterns year round, though they offer even more variety in their Classic Fit sport shirt line.
