Let me tell you a little bit about why I like the new iOS 7 sounds so much and where it all began.
I like to think that I live a pretty contemporary lifestyle. I really like the idea of the world many years ahead, which is probably due to the things I see in movies and video games (music has a lot to do with that), like something you might see in TRON or the Mass Effect series to name a couple (both of which have pretty cool soundtracks).
It wasn't until I was about 20 that I even discovered what those synthesizers and sound machines were and how they produced the sounds they did. I found myself expressing my creativity with music production. I purchased a few pieces of equipment (well, it was more like several), but one instrument in particular tied it all together for me. The Korg. A MicroKorg to be exact. This thing had several hundred different sounding synthesizers on it, with the ability to repeat and loop awesome-sounding digital and futuristic tones. You could choose from a bunch of different musical genres, and each genre had about 16 unique effects. I was blown away. Once I started messing around with some melodies, the light bulb finally went on. A revelation. "Ooohhh... That's how they do that!". For those of you who know me personally, the rest is history.
Nonetheless, I'm thankful for the new sounds and ringtones that were included in the new iPhone platform sound library. In case you feel like joining the synth lifestyle, here are my favorites from iOS 7:
Once you here those, you'll know exactly what I mean.
